"And Life Loves You", wild hand-tanned deerhide and turquoises beads
This handbag is made from hand-tanned wild deerhide and was entirely crafted by my hands in France. It is a unique piece.
Setting off on an adventure, light-hearted, hair unbound, driven by the wind, wandering through meadows sprinkled with flowers, across wild plains sometimes parched by the sun where the yellowed grass breaks underfoot.
Crossing an icy torrent from which you pull out your bluish feet and warm them by gently blowing on them.
Then set off again, following in your footsteps, one after the other.
Arrive and sit gently on the thirsty earth - listen to the Beauty.
Tears as bright as crystals fall silently down your cheeks.
Your face bathed in grace and golden light.
Description
The hide of this bag has been tanned by hand. To preserve it perfectly, it has been smoked with cedar wood, giving it a sweet fragrance and that lovely honey colour.
It is very rare to find hides tanned in this way, which might makes this piece even more precious.
The border of the flap is partially embroidered with small glass beads in two different turquoise blues.
On the flap, these small beads are embroidered with turquoise heishi beads and round transparent glass beads in a very pale green.
The handle is adorned with small glass beads in two different turquoise blues, small faceted garnet and smoked orange glass beads, turquoise heishi beads and three genuine turquoise stones.
Sewn on either side of the bag, it is embellished with small turquoise blue glass beads, small garnet facetted beads, a mother-of-pearl tiny bird, turquoise heishi beads and a solid silver concho from New Mexico.
The other side is decorated with small glass beads in two different turquoise blues, small faceted garnet glass beads and a small solid silver concho from New Mexico.
The fringes are adorned with small glass beads in two different turquoise blues, small faceted garnet glass beads, antique silver faceted beads, a turquoise heishi bead and a green genuine turquoise.
This bag is lined and comes in an ecru cotton pouch with its name, also sewn by my hands.
